Dr. Angus McLeod describes a 4-level coaching model that is based upon two different coachee-processing styles. These are firstly, intellectual and secondly, internal experiencing. Both are characterized by observable physiology. Internal, deeper-level processing leads to the most cathartic change in coaching (of any brand or type). The model therefore helps differentiate coach-performance. The four distinctions help identify at which level the coachee is processing and an experienced coach can use the model to determine the type of intervention (including the immediate stopping of talking) in order that the coachee can stay in the most productive learning states. @draimcleod
